CT Technologist I

Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor or preceptor. This entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services. The role involves providing patient care to adult and/or pediatric populations for the purpose of aiding medical staff in diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance. Responsibilities include providing safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care under routine or emergent conditions in various care settings. Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with orders by physicians. Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team. Utilizes highly specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and techniques for a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures. Conducts post-procedure reviews to confirm all required elements are completed and documented. Transfers images and data to appropriate archival systems and prepares studies for physician reporting. Performs operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, and user maintenance per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines. Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies. Skills required include the ability to apply principles of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, and medical terminology. Must be a team player and consistently report to work as scheduled. Ability to be sensitive to patients' physical and psychological needs. Ability to maintain accurate records and work with names, numbers, and codes. Ability to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Must exercise discretion in handling confidential information and exhibit sound judgment. Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations. Knowledge and understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology. Skill to apply core-level primary specialty theory and practices to perform and analyze study data or documentation. Preferred education is an associate's degree or higher. No additional preferred certifications or licensure are listed.
