Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT Certified), BLS certification
Must-Have: Graduate of a JCERT approved School of Radiologic Technology, ARRT certification in Radiography and CT
Description: Utilizes appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images. Performs daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure proper calibration and functionality before any patient study. Injects patients with radioactive material as per the physician's order, following prescribed protocols. Observes all department documentation policies by completing logs, manuals, charge documents, and reporting equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies. Performs quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests. Follows radiation safety guidelines to comply with the ALARA principle. Maintains, develops, and retrieves patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation. Orders patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use. Receives radiopharmaceuticals on the day of delivery and verifies proper receipt according to policy and procedure. Verifies activity level of the dose prior to administration. Exercises appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patients' needs before, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
