Base pay range
$65.40/hr - $67.40/hr
The CT Technologist is responsible for coordinating and producing high-quality computerized tomography (CT) studies and assisting in CT-guided procedures. This role requires critical‑thinking skills, knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy/physiology, radiation safety, venipuncture, and safe medication administration for contrast media and adjunct medications. The technologist will operate sophisticated imaging and ancillary equipment to produce quality CT procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality CT examinations for review by the interpreting physician.
- Coordinate CT examinations according to physician orders and protocols.
- Protocol examinations based on established guidelines and clinical history.
- Perform venipuncture and medication administration with a focus on safety and effectiveness.
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Assess patients prior to studies to ensure safety and cooperation.
- Educate patients and address concerns/questions before executing CT exams.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) for transmitting, archiving, and retrieving digital images.
Education
- Successful graduation from a Joint Commission approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Sciences.
- Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Certification & Licensure
- ARRT – Radiography – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Upon Hire)
- ARRT – CT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Upon Hire)
- CRT – Certified Radiologic Technologist (Upon Hire)
- IV Certification (Upon Hire)
- BLS – Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Upon Hire)
- RHF – Radiology Fluoroscopy within 180 Days of hire
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in an acute care facility is preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
- Proficiency in cross-sectional anatomy and technical factors.
- Proficiency with multiple computerized systems.
- Proficiency in using PACS for digital image management.
- Knowledge of and compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements.
