Overview

The Phoenix VA Radiology Service is seeking a Section Chief of Imaging Informatics. The Chief will oversee enterprise-wide PACS operations and staff dedicated to this operation, including managing digital image sharing between PVAHCS and Community Care partners. The position requires familiarity with Radiology subspecialty services and may prefer a subspecialty in Neuroradiology or MSK radiology.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee enterprise-wide PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) operations.
  • Manage staff dedicated to the PACS operation.
  • Coordinate digital image sharing between PVAHCS and Community Care partners.
  • Ensure compliance with quality monitoring, maintenance, and regulatory standards for each specialty division.

Work Schedule

Mon - Fri, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay: Competitive salary (up to $400,000 annually) + annual performance bonus + regular salary increases.
  • Sign-on Bonus: Up to 25% of your annual salary.
  • Paid-Time Off: 50-55 days annually (26 days leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and up to 5 days paid absence for CME).
  • Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5-year vesting) and federal 401k with up to 5% contributions by VA.
  • Insurance: Federal health, vision, dental, term life, long-term care (many federal programs carry into retirement).
  • CME: 5 days of paid absence for CME and possible $2500 annual reimbursement. *
  • Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): Student-loan payment reimbursement up to $ .
  • Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage.
  • Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting.

* Must be board-certified to receive the 5 days CME allowance.

** The EDRP is authorized; eligibility is determined by VHA policy and requires application within four months of start date.

Employment Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • One full, unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory. Must maintain current, active license.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; non-citizens may only be appointed when no qualified citizen is available per VA policy.
