As a Radiologic Technologist, you will operate imaging equipment and perform diagnostic imaging exams while following ALARA principles to ensure patient and staff safety. You'll work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate, high-quality imaging and excellent patient care.
What You'll Do
- Perform radiographic, CT, DEXA, and surgical/fluoroscopic imaging procedures.
- Start IVs and administer contrast media within your scope of practice.
- Transport patients to and from Radiology and provide care throughout their visit.
- Assist radiologists and physicians with procedures as needed.
- Operate radiology and office equipment and maintain equipment functionality.
- Schedule patients for Radiology, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, CT, and Ultrasound exams.
- Provide patients with appropriate preparation instructions for exams.
- Maintain knowledge of sterile techniques and operate the C-arm in the operating room.
- Utilize the electronic medical record and patient archive/communication systems.
- Monitor patient safety needs and communicate concerns appropriately.
- Maintain supplies and inventory within the department.
- Participate in call responsibilities as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, coworkers, and other departments.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate excellent customer service.
- Perform other duties and special assignments as assigned.
Required:
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
- Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) .
- Current Iowa General Permit to Practice license.
- X-ray experience.
- CT and DEXA experience.
- Ability to maintain a high level of courtesy and cooperation with patients, coworkers, and visitors.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and perform a variety of duties efficiently.
- RQI Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of start date.
- Mandatory Reporter Certificate within 90 days of start date.
