Radiologic Technologist-HHK-Sacaton

Position Summary: Takes radiographs of various portions of the body by operating x-ray equipment in accordance with established safety standards and regulations. Processes and critiques radiographic images to assist in diagnosis of disease or injury. Prepares room, equipment, and supplies to ensure optimal results of procedures.

Critical Tasks:

  • Performs radiographic exams by taking images, and forwarding results to radiologist for evaluation.
  • Prepares for examination by obtaining patients' history, explaining procedures to patients, providing appropriate protective shielding, and positioning patients to ensure optimal results.
  • Assists patients to and from exam room and table.
  • Prepares exam room by positioning equipment appropriately for exam and setting the correct technique.
  • Maintains records and files by utilizing picture archiving and communication system (PACS) and electronic health record (EHR) in compliance with state and federal requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Identifies and reports equipment in need of repair.
  • Performs and documents quality control activities to ensure safe operation of equipment.
  • Maintains stock and inventory levels of supplies for radiographic procedures.
  • Participates in a variety of performance and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Performs other job-related activities as requested.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Medical Radiography or a closely related field of study required.
  • Graduate of JCERT accredited Radiography program.
  • Current registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) approved by the Arizona Medical Radiologic Technical Board of Examiners (MRTBE) or ability to obtain Certificate within 3 months in position.
  • Current and continuing BLS training and certifications; or able to obtain within 30 days in position.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
