Requirements:

The Radiologic Technologist will assume responsibility for following prescribed techniques for producing general and specific x-rays for diagnostic purposes. Duties include performing under the supervision of an RN, LPN, NP, PA, or Physician.

Essential Functions:

• Explains procedures to patients and fills out preliminary read forms.
• Performs routine examinations as ordered by the medical provider.
• Adjusts X-ray equipment to proper settings.
• Properly shields patients.
• Maintains records as required by NYS DOH.
• Maintains Quality Assurance.
• Knowledge of blood-borne pathogens and universal precautions.
• Performs additional duties such as patient intake, vital signs, drug and alcohol testing, pulmonary function testing, EKG, phlebotomy, specimen preparation, and assisting medical providers.

Educational Requirements:

Graduate from an accredited Radiology Technologist program, ARRT certification, current NYS license, and BLS certification.

Experience:

New graduates are welcome; 1 year of experience is a plus but not required.
