Job Description
Performs radiographic and/or medical imaging and related procedures to assist in diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Responsibilities
- Performs radiographic and/or medical imaging and related procedures at the request of a licensed practitioner.
- Selects and operates radiography equipment, imaging and associated accessories to perform non-invasive procedures.
- Prepares, immobilizes and positions patients and equipment to demonstrate anatomical area of interest.
- Determines and evaluates radiographic technique exposure factors to minimize exposure to patient, self and others.
- Provides direct patient care, communicates needs to providers and evaluates outcomes.
- Practices aseptic techniques.
- Assist licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional radiography procedures.
- Performs venipuncture using proper methodology.
- Communicates with all healthcare providers to assure quality of care.
- Ensures completion of all studies prior to releasing patient.
- Maintains quality control and quality assurance for the assigned area.
- Properly identifies patient prior to performing examinations.
- Evaluates radiographs or images for technical quality with proper recording of identification.
- Reports any equipment malfunctions; documents in the proper system.
- Participates in quality assessments and improvement plans.
- Participates as a member of the team to achieve business goals, quality outcomes and customer satisfaction.
- Provides assistance to team members as requested or required.
- Participates on committees/councils and performance improvement activities as requested/required.
- Successful completion of probation and annual skills/competency requirements.
- Practices within legal, ethical and professional boundaries.
- Maintains expertise in the area.
- Serves as a role model by demonstrating positive team based behaviors.
- Shows commitment to personal professional growth through the pursuit of advanced knowledge and skills.
- Performance of duties will be in compliance with all laws and regulations governing healthcare organizations.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associate's Degree Graduate of an accredited radiology program
