Part Time Day Shift
Summary
Performs radiologic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries and to evaluate the technical quality of radiographs. Provides procedural-related patient care and education. Maintains records and documentation for procedures.
Qualifications
Required:
- Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography.
- State of Nevada license in Radiography.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Essential Functions
- Interprets patient’s histories and physician instructions
- Assesses patient’s condition prior to administering a contrast media or performing the radiographic procedure.
- Explains and prepares patients for roentgenographic and/or fluoroscopic examination.
- Determines proper technique and selects exposure factors, exposes and develops film.
- Practices radiation protection procedures according to ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) for patients, self, and others. Practices medical and surgical aseptic techniques.
- Perform diagnostic radiograph procedures through the application of ionizing radiation to produce images on film.
- Administers oral contrast media and performs successful injection of contrast media.
- Documents patient assessment/history related to procedures.
- Performs and documents equipment quality control according to protocols: recognizes and reports malfunctions or variations to supervisor as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
