Bedford, IN, United States – This is a PRN Radiation Therapist position located at Bloomington Hospital, working at the IU Health Bloomington Cancer Radiation Center and the IU Health Bedford Cancer Radiation Center.

Responsibilities

Apply ionizing radiation to patients for therapeutic purposes in accordance with the prescription and instruction of a radiation oncologist. Control the exact amount of radiation to be administered locally, reproduce treatment fields, and ensure exposure is limited to prescribed areas. Maintain high levels of quality control, safety, treatment planning and administration, patient care, and patient scheduling. May be asked to mentor those with less experience and/or students during clinical rotations.

Qualifications

• Registered RT (T) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or eligibility to sit for the exam; must pass within three months of hire.
• RT (T) license issued and required by the Indiana State Department of Health.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current BLS certification.
• Certification and ongoing registration in Radiation Therapy with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.).
• CPR certification.
• Extensive knowledge of the technical aspects of radiation oncology, including operation of complex equipment, mathematical computation for treatment planning, and beam‑altering device implementation.
