Role Overview

As a Therapist-Radiation, you will administer radiation therapy by exposing specific areas of the patient's body to prescribed doses of radiation. You'll play a critical role in preparing and positioning patients, delivering treatment plans, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Your work directly supports patients and collaborates with physicians and dosimetrists to provide high-quality care.

What You Will Do

• Prepare and position patients, selecting anatomic parameters accurately.
• Deliver appropriate patient treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and dosimetrists.
• Maintain detailed records of all therapy sessions.
• Maintain and adjust necessary equipment, including linear accelerators.
• Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department.

Qualifications:

** EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:**

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.

** CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:**

• A.R.R.T. Radiation Therapy Technology Certification or registry eligible
• Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS’ Customer Service Policy

** WORKING CONDITIONS:**

• Normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.
• Lifting of patients, moving & pushing wheelchairs / stretchers and lifting of equipment, above head, up to 50lbs.
• Potential exposure to radiation; however, adherence to safety procedures minimizes likelihood of danger.
• Frequent interaction with emotionally depressed and terminally/critically ill patients.
