Job Summary and Responsibilities

$5,000 sign-on bonus and $10,000 educational assistance available to external candidates!

What you will do:

  • Greets patient utilizing AIDET, verifies patient identification, reviews chart for proper radiation treatment parameters and physician prescriptions
  • Informs patients and families about the treatment process and answers questions
  • Prepares patients for treatment. Positions equipment according to plan
  • Takes portal films or IGRT scans to ensure treatment protocols are accurately set up and followed
  • Verifies proper dosage of ionizing radiation for patient as prescribed by physician
  • Monitors patient throughout treatment process by checking video monitors and intercom
  • Informs physician anytime patient experiences distress or side effects related to treatment process
  • Records each patient’s treatment in EMR and proper notes for accurate treatment and setup
  • Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate journals, books, and other literature and attending related seminars, conferences and education opportunities

Education

  • Satisfactory completion of a JRCERT accredited Radiation Therapy Program

Licenses & Certifications

  • ARRT (T) boards completion within 6 months of hire
  • BLS from the American Heart Association required upon hire

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of linear accelerators and record and verify systems
  • Ability to operate radiation therapy equipment
  • Ability to manage patients
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
