Job Summary and Responsibilities
$5,000 sign-on bonus and $10,000 educational assistance available to external candidates!
What you will do:
- Greets patient utilizing AIDET, verifies patient identification, reviews chart for proper radiation treatment parameters and physician prescriptions
- Informs patients and families about the treatment process and answers questions
- Prepares patients for treatment. Positions equipment according to plan
- Takes portal films or IGRT scans to ensure treatment protocols are accurately set up and followed
- Verifies proper dosage of ionizing radiation for patient as prescribed by physician
- Monitors patient throughout treatment process by checking video monitors and intercom
- Informs physician anytime patient experiences distress or side effects related to treatment process
- Records each patient’s treatment in EMR and proper notes for accurate treatment and setup
- Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate journals, books, and other literature and attending related seminars, conferences and education opportunities
Education
- Satisfactory completion of a JRCERT accredited Radiation Therapy Program
Licenses & Certifications
- ARRT (T) boards completion within 6 months of hire
- BLS from the American Heart Association required upon hire
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of linear accelerators and record and verify systems
- Ability to operate radiation therapy equipment
- Ability to manage patients
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
