Job Description
Role Summary: This position involves using imaging techniques and radiation therapy to assist in diagnosis and treatment. It includes preparing patients, administering radiation treatments for cancer, and ensuring safety protocols. The technologist applies ionizing radiation based on physician prescriptions, monitors patient reactions, and maintains detailed treatment records.
Responsibilities: Deliver prescribed therapy with minimal supervision, verify treatment details, explain procedures to patients, monitor for adverse reactions, prepare treatment rooms and equipment, assist in simulations and dosimetry, perform machine calibrations, document treatments, and manage clerical duties. Maintains a clean, organized department and ensures equipment functionality.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Science, certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, licensure, BLS certification, and at least one year of radiation therapy experience. Preferred candidates have three years of experience. Must possess strong knowledge of anatomy, excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Physical ability to lift, stand, and handle equipment is necessary.
