Radiation Therapist – Radiation Oncology (Lancaster/Antelope Valley) (Full Time) - Eligible for $20,000 sign on bonus!
Radiation Therapist I/II responsible for delivering radiation therapy to patients according to physician prescriptions and established standards. Perform procedures including IMRT, SRS, SBRT, TBI, TBE, High Dose Rate Brachytherapy, and CT-based simulations. Provide clinical instruction to students and mentor the next generation of radiation therapists. Operate Varian 2100iX with onboard imager/cone beam CT.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to patients of all ages.
- Reinforce recommendations given to patients by healthcare professionals concerning reaction to treatment and care of radiated areas, prevention, or treatment of generalized and local side effects.
- Perform simulation procedures as prescribed by physician and assist in dosimetry procedures.
- Perform daily quality assurance checks on linear accelerators, reporting any variation in morning warm-up and reporting improper equipment operation to appropriate personnel.
Qualifications
- High School or equivalent; Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training in an accredited Radiation Therapy Education Program.
- Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology course plus radiation therapy course OR Graduate of an accredited Bachelor of Science in Radiation Therapy Program.
- Licensed by the California State Department of Health (Certified in Radiation Therapy).
- Certification by the ARRT – in Radiation Therapy CRT.
- BLS or CPR.
- Note: For candidates with >3 years of experience: Radiation Therapist II (Pay Range: $60.31/hr - $75.39/hr - $90.47/hr).
- For candidates with <3 years of experience: Radiation Therapist I (Pay Range: $54.97/hr - $68.71/hr - $82.45/hr).
