Radiation Therapist

Role Overview:

The Radiation Therapist administers ionizing radiation for therapeutic purposes, following the Radiation Oncologist's prescription.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and implement treatment plans
• perform patient simulations
• prepare immobilization devices
• conduct equipment quality assurance
• assist in clinical training
• provide patient care and education
• monitor treatment progress
• ensure timely treatment scheduling

Qualifications & Skills:

• Requires ARRT certification
• applicable radiology license
• BLS certification
• Preferred candidates hold a bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy
• Essential skills include clinical processes, patient care, communication, decision-making, empathy, problem-solving, flexibility, and collaboration

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to see, read, and operate complex equipment
• lift and move patients and supplies
• stand for extended periods
• if applicable, drive
