This role involves diagnosing and developing personalized treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of medical professionals to ensure high-quality patient outcomes within an oncology services environment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients with cancer and formulate treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs
  • Administer and oversee radiation therapy treatments
  • Collaborate with other oncology specialists and multidisciplinary teams to create comprehensive care plans
  • Participate in tumor boards and case discussions
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality assurance standards in radiation treatment
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment processes and expected outcomes
  • Engage in clinical research or continuous improvement projects, as applicable

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Board certification (or eligibility) in Radiation Oncology
  • Valid medical license to practice in Louisiana
  • Strong clinical expertise in radiation therapy planning and delivery
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Dedication to patient-centered care and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Preferred: Proficiency with advanced radiation therapy techniques (e.g., IMRT, SBRT, SRS, IGRT)
  • Preferred: Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Preferred: Participation in research, publications, or teaching activities
