Responsibilities

The Department of Radiation Oncology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, is seeking a radiation oncologist with priority given to candidates interested in genitourinary and/or metastasis-directed and palliative radiotherapy. The radiation oncologist will employ all radiation modalities, including IMRT, SBRT/SRS, and proton beam therapy, within a multidisciplinary team caring for patients with genitourinary cancers and with metastatic disease across all primary sites. Candidates should have exceptional clinical competency and will also be expected to participate in education and research activities. Both current practicing radiation oncologists and graduating residents are encouraged to apply.

The department is an accredited residency program with 12 medical residents, and the position includes participation in education efforts for residents and medical students. Treatment modalities include six LINACs, a four gantry proton center, brachytherapy, SBRT, intraoperative radiotherapy, Gamma Knife, clinical trials, and translational research. Over 4,000 patients are treated yearly within the department, consisting of more than 40 physicians.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) and eligible for Minnesota state licensure.

Compensation and Details

The minimum starting salary for Medical specialties may range from $208,000 to $708,168. This range reflects full-time total base compensation prior to consideration of additional experience or duties. Pay for the selected candidate will vary based on specialty, experience, FTE, internal equity, or external market data.

Exempt; Full Time; 80 hours/pay period; No international assignment.
