Overview

The Department of Radiation Oncology and Applied Sciences (DROAS) at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center seeks a full‑time radiation oncologist to serve at practice locations in Lebanon, ND, and St. Johnsbury, VT. DROAS is a member of the Dartmouth Cancer Center, the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College, and a NCI‑designated cancer center.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a generalist radiation oncologist, providing comprehensive patient care and clinical services.
  • Confirm diagnoses, develop and execute external‑beam radiation therapy plans (IMRT, IGRT, stereotactic), and monitor patient progress.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of ABR‑certified radiation oncologists and physicists.
  • Participate in academic endeavors, including resident conferences, teaching, and clinical research.
  • Maintain clinical and administrative record‑keeping and participate in quality and patient safety initiatives.
  • Provide patient and family‑centered care, obtain informed consent, and supervise advanced practice providers as directed.

Qualifications

  • Advanced clinical degree (MD or DO) and residency training in radiation oncology.
  • Board certified or board eligible in radiation oncology.
  • Strong commitment to academic cancer care and collaborative practice.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and compassionate demeanor.
  • Ability to practice on an as‑needed basis across several locations in New Hampshire and Vermont.

Required Licensure and Certifications

  • Board certified or board eligible in radiation oncology.
  • Current medical licensure in New Hampshire and Vermont (or eligibility to obtain within 5 years).
  • Active hospital staff membership.
