Radar Engineer – Autonomous Vehicle TechnologyLocation: Plano, TX Job Type: Contract Industry: Autonomous Vehicles / ADASJob SummaryWe are seeking a Radar Engineer to develop and optimize radar-based perception systems for autonomous vehicles. The ideal candidate will have expertise in radar signal processing, sensor fusion, and automotive radar technology, with strong programming skills in C++ and Python. This role involves integrating radar sensors into autonomous driving stacks, optimizing real-time perception algorithms, and enhancing vehicle safety through advanced radar-based systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and test automotive radar systems for perception, tracking, and localization in autonomous vehicles.Implement and optimize radar signal processing algorithms, including Doppler processing, range estimation, and clutter suppression.Develop and enhance object detection, tracking, and classification using radar point cloud data.Work on sensor fusion by integrating radar with LiDAR, cameras, IMU, and GPS for improved situational awareness.Implement SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) algorithms using radar data for vehicle localization.Perform radar calibration, synchronization, and optimization to ensure real-time accuracy and reliability.Develop and deploy real-time radar perception models on embedded and GPU platforms.Work with AUTOSAR, ROS2, and middleware frameworks for radar perception system integration.Ensure compliance with automotive safety standards like ISO 26262, SOTIF, and ASPICE.Conduct HIL/SIL testing, data collection, and analysis to validate radar performance in real-world driving scenarios.Required QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.1+ years of experience in automotive radar perception and signal processing.Strong programming skills in C++ and Python for real-time radar processing.Expertise in MATLAB, Simulink, or PCL for radar data analysis and visualization.Hands-on experience with radar algorithms such as CFAR, MUSIC, Kalman Filters, and DBSCAN clustering.Experience with mmWave radar sensors (e.g., TI AWR, Infineon, Bosch, Continental).Knowledge of CAN, DDS, and automotive Ethernet protocols for sensor communication.
