Radar Engineer LeadAmentum is seeking a Radar Engineer Lead to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC).Essential Functions:Designs, develops, modifies, evaluates and implements new and existing Radar hardware systems.Supports the radar lead engineer with the technical aspects of a project and the supporting multi-disciplined project team.Researches, designs, develops, modifies, and implements highly complex, new and/or existing capabilities for Range radar support hardware systems. Assists with the development of complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis to provide the most appropriate technical solutionSupports complex Level 1, 2, and 3 testing to qualify hardware systems for Range operationsPlans, conducts, and assists in the execution of projectsDevelops, recommends, and implements design approaches for products and/or processesCoordinates the efforts of technical support personnel for assigned projectsAnalyzes, develops, recommends and implements approaches to meet Range requirementsReviews literature, patents and current practices to support business requirements and/or new industry technologyPrepares reports regarding new technology to communicate to appropriate personnelEvaluates component suppliers and vendor capabilities. Acts as liaison with approved vendors/suppliers to maintain product/process availability and working relationshipServes as an interface for project information to internal management and the customers.Develops an understanding of Range radars, to include transmitters, receivers, antennas and control systems.Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnelAssists Depot with problematic repairs of Line Replaceable Units (LRU's)Provides expertise to level 2 requests for engineering assistance to restore operational systemsIdentify, document, and prioritize Radar subsystem needs/deficiencies/inefficiencies in support of the Western RangeSupport the development of risk statementsRequired Skills:Ability to effectively communicate technical issues verbally and through written media such as graphical slides and verbal presentations to contract management and customers.Ability to read and understand wire diagrams, schematics and mechanical drawingsStrong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsStrong organizational and time management skills to balance, plan, prioritize, and execute projectsStrong leadership and conflict management skillsGood human relations and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external support personnel and provide guidance to less experienced engineersAbility to work within a dynamic, fast paced environment with time constraintsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamRequired Experience:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other technical degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field.5+ years of working experience with RF and Radar systems.Experience working with Windows based computer systems and components and Office tool suiteExperience providing inputs to complex project proposals within defined time constraints involving multi-discipline teamsFundamental knowledge of RF to include local oscillators, doublers, mixers, programmable and fixed attenuators and amplifiers.Fundamental knowledge of radar tracking antenna systems, including servo systemsWorking knowledge of monopulse radar tracking systems and/or shipboard radar systems desired.Experience working with high power tube and solid state RF amplifiers.Experience with C-band pulsed Doppler tracking and wideband coherent imaging systems desired.Familiar with legacy range radars types (AN/FPQ-6, AN/FPQ-14, AN/FPS-16) desired.Familiarization with digital interface design to include familiarization with interface modules, cable/wire types and connector systems.Fundamental knowledge of hardware systems integration and testing.Fundamental knowledge of the engineering lifecycle and systems engineering processesGeneral knowledge of instrumentation systems troubleshooting.Proficient in use of specialized test equipment including but not limited to VOMs, spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes.Fundamental knowledge in technical writing for development of technical reports (White Papers) and other technical support documentation.Familiarization with computer systems including single-board (SBCs), servers, and workstations.Familiarization with the Linux and Windows Operating systemsSalary and Other Compensation:The annual starting salary for this position is between $130,000–$150,000 annually.
