Resident Assistant/Medical Technician
The Resident Assistant/Medical Technician is responsible for meeting resident needs, including but not limited to: assistance with personal care needs, administration of medication, and assistance with activities of daily living as well as activity programs. All tasks must be performed in a careful and caring manner, recognizing the condition(s) of the individual. Under the supervision of an LPN or an RN, the Resident Assistant/Medical Technician provides personal care and selected technical nursing services to predominately geriatric residents.
Type Equipment Required/Used:
Gloves, towels, linens, walker/cane, wheelchair, bedpan, mop, lifts, telephone, copier, VCR, TV, cassette player/stereo equipment, musical instruments and other common tools/equipment.
Work Areas:
Resident rooms, day areas, dining rooms, activity/recreation areas of facility, porches, patios, yards, outside areas, etc.
- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have the ability to work as a team member.
- Must be able to speak, read and write the English language.
- Must have an interest in the care of geriatric residents.
- Must be sensitive to the needs of the elderly.
- Must have good interpersonal skills.
