R&D Lab Compounding Technician IThe R&D Lab Compounding Technician I will work individually and alongside others to support our flavor development team. This role will assist in daily lab operations, focusing on sample preparation, routine testing under direct supervision, and developing skills in the laboratory.Essential FunctionsCompound flavor samples in accordance with sample requestsPrepare and organize lab materials, tools, and equipmentConduct basic lab tests and procedures, including density, refractive index, and flashpoint measurementsAccurately record quality control data and maintain lab logsSupport lab cleanliness and inventory managementUse ERP to adjust inventory for accuracyAdditional duties as assignedRequired Skill and AbilitiesAbility to follow instructions with precisionHighly organized and proactive in the labAttention to detail and eagerness to learnStrong communication and time management skillsPhysical DemandsThe physical responsibilities described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, as well as talk and hear. The position requires the ability to occasionally lift, push, or pull office and lab products and supplies up to 25 pounds.Employees may also be required to handle and weigh small ingredient quantities used in batch compounding processes.The position works in a lab and warehouse setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets, and standard lab equipment such as label printers, allergen testing kits, pipettes, scales, and meters.
The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet.Position Type / Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are typically Monday - Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm (temporarily)Monday - Thursday, 6:30am - 4:30pm (anticipated future schedule)Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma required, associate's degree in a science-related field requiredLaboratory or manufacturing experience in a food production environment preferred
