R&D Engineer
We're looking for an R&D Engineer to lead the design and development of heart valve technologies. This role is highly technical and hands-on, focused on valve design, testing, and product development within a regulated medical device environment. You'll work cross-functionally to bring new valve technologies from concept through validation and toward commercialization.
What You'll Do:
- Lead design and development of transcatheter heart valve technologies
- Plan and execute bench testing, hydrodynamic testing, and preclinical evaluations
- Develop and validate test methods, fixtures, and evaluation protocols
- Solve complex engineering challenges through root cause analysis and data-driven decisions
- Support verification & validation activities for regulatory submissions
- Partner with Manufacturing on technology transfer and scale-up
- Collaborate with Regulatory and Quality to ensure compliance and product readiness
- Present technical findings and influence design decisions
What You'll Bring:
Must-Haves
- 3+ years of R&D/product development experience (3+ in medical devices)
- Experience designing and testing complex medical or implantable devices
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead technical workstreams
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and data analysis
- Bachelor's in Mechanical, Biomedical, or related field (advanced degree a plus)
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in structural heart, TMVR/TAVR, or valve development
- Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, biomechanics, and materials
- Experience with design controls, V&V, and regulatory submissions
- Familiarity with CAD (SolidWorks), FEA, and analytical tools (Minitab)
