Quoting Engineer

Role Description The Quoting Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Poway, CA. This role is responsible for analyzing customer PCB design data, specifications, and requirements to prepare accurate and timely cost estimates and formal quotations. Day-to-day activities include reviewing technical drawings and Gerber files, assessing manufacturing feasibility, determining materials and processes, and collaborating with engineering, production, and sales teams to ensure alignment on pricing and lead times. The Quoting Engineer will maintain and update cost models, support margin analysis, and contribute to continuous improvement of quoting tools and workflows. The role also involves communicating with internal stakeholders and, when needed, customers to clarify technical details, resolve issues, and support competitive, customer-focused proposals.

Qualifications

• Strong PCB/electronics manufacturing knowledge, including materials, stack-ups, HDI, rigid, rigid-flex, and flex PCB processes.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, Gerber data, manufacturing specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Experience with cost estimation, pricing analysis, and quoting tools or ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools; comfort working with numbers, margins, and cost breakdowns.
• Effective collaboration skills with engineering, production, quality, and sales teams, plus clear written and verbal communication.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple quotes and deadlines simultaneously.
• Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to assess feasibility, identify risks, and propose cost-effective solutions.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, industrial technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in PCB manufacturing or electronic component production is highly beneficial.
