Remote Contract General
We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Lune Gorge project team, playing a role in delivering one of the UK's major infrastructure projects. Nationwide – work location Tebay, Cumbria, with some remote working available Hours:

Permanent, Full time, 45 hours per week – flexible working arrangements can be discussed Salary:

£40,000 – £45,000 per year + £5,000 annual car allowance + benefits We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship for this role

What will you be responsible for?

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll support the commercial management of a major civil engineering project, helping to control costs, maximise value and ensure strong financial performance throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with commercial and operational teams, you'll contribute to the successful delivery of the scheme while developing your expertise within the construction and infrastructure sector.

Day to day responsibilities include:

Supporting the commercial management of contracts and work packages to achieve project objectives and maximise profitability

Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment, compensation events, claims and commercial reports in line with contractual requirements

Monitoring project costs, forecasting financial performance and providing commercial insight to support decision-making

Identifying commercial risks and opportunities, helping to mitigate issues and improve project outcomes

Managing measurements, valuations and cash flow processes to maintain effective commercial control throughout project delivery

What are we looking for?

This role of Quantity Surveyor could be a great fit if you:

Hold a degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline

Have a full UK driving licence and enjoy working within a site-based construction environment

Bring experience from a commercial, quantity surveying or cost management role within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or transportation projects

Are confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, to analyse and manage commercial data

Have strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
