Quantitative Developer — Research Engineering (On-site, NYC)
About the role
Join a top-tier systematic trading organization scaling a research–engineering bridge to move ideas from prototype to production at speed. You’ll sit on the desk with researchers and traders , build the tooling that powers signals and portfolios, and see immediate commercial impact . On-site 5 days/week in New York. What You’ll Do
- Build research platforms: backtesting & simulation frameworks, reusable libraries, and reproducible workflows.
- Ship production pipelines: signal generation, data ingestion/validation, model training/serving, and monitoring.
- Enable portfolio construction & execution: tools that connect research to live risk, cost, and liquidity constraints.
- Own end-to-end projects: from problem framing with QRs/PMs → implementation → production → iteration.
- Operate on fast loops: adapt systems to fluid markets; prioritize commercial value and reliability.
What You’ll Bring
- 1+ years in quantitative development or back-end/software engineering with evidence of end-to-end ownership .
- Proficiency in Python (and/or similar languages) and comfort with performant, production-grade code.
- Strength in systems thinking : data models, testing, infra, and reliability at scale.
- Communication & commerciality: translate technical trade-offs into business outcomes.
- Nice signals (any one helps): rigorous CS/Math background, high GPA, notable internships/return offers, Olympiad/research/accelerated graduation.
