Kronos Trading is a fast-growing systematic trading business serving high-capital clients. Since 2022, our systems have outperformed Bitcoin over the same periods and we’re scaling the research stack to keep doing it --through better strategy design, tighter risk controls, and smarter portfolio construction.

We’re hiring a full-time Quant Strategy & Risk Research Engineer to work directly with Alex (Founder & Fund Manager) on new strategies and risk models.

Execution is handled via a third-party platform connected to client exchange accounts.

Your job is to design, test, and specify the logic -- then collaborate with our infrastructure lead who handles automation/integration.

--

Your Mission

Help us create strategies that survive: minimize drawdowns, control exposure, and keep performance resilient across market regimes. You’ll combine research discipline with real-world trading practicality.

What You’ll Do

  1. Strategy research in TradingView (Pine Script v5)
    • Implement and iterate on strategy logic in Pine (prototypes → robust versions)
    • Build tooling to explore ideas quickly (filters, regime detection, trade management logic)
    • Maintain readable, modular code so iteration is fast
    • Reproduce/extend ideas beyond TradingView in Python when needed: c_parameter sweeps, d_sensitivity/stability checks, “Does this edge persist across pairs and regimes?”, “What’s the expected drawdown distribution?”, “What happens when correlations spike?”
    • Propose and design your own 'Risk Dashboard' such as: Spread / liquidity anomaly alerts, Exposure caps on client’s account, cooldowns, trade halts, guardrails for bad fills, error conditions, abnormal volatility, extreme market moves. Write the specs and logic; infra integrates it into monitoring/automation.
  2. Work tightly with Alex (Founder)
    • Daily collaboration on ideas, trade-offs, and risk decisions
    • Bring critical thinking and “capital protection” instincts, not just coding

--

Who We’re Looking For

  • You naturally ask: “How does this fail?” and design around it
  • You care about drawdowns, tail risk, exposure, and robustness
  • You can propose smart money management ideas and defend them with evidence

--

A - Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

  • Strong Pine Script v5 (stateful logic, not just indicators)
  • Strong Python for quant analysis / backtesting

B - Demonstrated understanding of

  • drawdowns & risk-of-ruin thinking
  • position/exposure management
  • regime changes and strategy decay

C - High reliability

  • consistent availability, fast communication, full-time focus

--

Other Must Have

  • Trading experience, specifically Crypto and Forex.
  • Experience working with execution platforms (3commas, Alpaca, etc...) at the logic/spec level
  • Familiarity with monitoring/alerting concepts for trading ops
  • Prior work on portfolio construction and uncorrelated strategy baskets

--

How We Work

  1. TradingView (Pine) for rapid research and iteration
  2. Python for deeper validation and portfolio-level truth
  3. Execution via our signal broadcaster (you are not writing an exchange execution engine)
  4. Fast cycles, high standards, minimal bureaucracy

--

Hiring Process (Fast)

  1. Pine task (implement a stateful strategy component cleanly)
  2. Python task (analyze results + stability)
  3. Risk task (design a delisting/spread anomaly protection spec + describe what you would do with that information)

--

To Apply

Send:

  • 2-3 examples of Pine work (links/screenshots)
  • A brief summary of a risk control system you designed (what it prevented and how)
  • A Python sample (GitHub/notebook snippet is fine)
  • Your timezone + confirmation of full-time availability
