Quality Tech III, Quality SpecialistHowmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Quality Tech III, Quality Specialist at our aerospace manufacturing facility in the City of Industry, CA.Born from many well-known and long-standing brands, Howmet Fastening Systems, headquartered in Torrance, California, is the premier designer and manufacturer of aerospace and industrial fasteners, latches, fluid fittings and installation tools. Our products are used nose to tail on commercial and military aircraft, as well as on jet engines, industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, wind turbines, solar power systems, and construction and industrial equipment.Summary Under general supervision performs inspection and calibration of gauges and tooling. Maintains all record and documentation pertaining to calibration system.Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. (NDT)Able to work with variety of quality system softwareSupport Quality Certs or Inspection when requiredPerforms inspection and calibrates all in-house gauges and tools used for product acceptance.Maintains documentation and evidence of calibration on all tools and gauges.Assist manufacturing and inspection with the recall of gauges.Coordinates with procurement on gauges which require outside calibration.Schedules outside suppliers for calibration of in-house tools, gauges and equipment.Reviews calibration results for tightening or reducing of calibration frequency.Run detailed First Article Inspections using tools like micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, and optical comparatorsRead and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints using GD&THandle customer claims and rejections through quality portalsTake the lead or support during internal and external audits.Lead and drive root cause analysis for customer, internal and supplier corrective actions.Work closely with teams across Production, Sales, Customer Service, and Quality to keep things running smoothlyQualificationsBasic Qualifications3-5 yrs hands on inspection experience in aerospace, medical devices or other highly regulated manufacturing environmentStrong organization skills, from paperwork to multitasking electronically in fast paced environmentExperience with tools like micrometers, calipers, ring/thread gauges, CMM, and optical comparatorsFamiliar with AS9100, ISO 17025, AS 13001, AS9102, ISO 9001, FAI's and customer quality requirements, Net-InspectMust be able to pass vision testBasic computer skills, Microsoft OfficeEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
