Quality EngineerThe Quality Engineer reports to the Quality Manager or designate. This position is responsible for customer satisfaction and acts as liaison between the customer and NASG. Responsible for maintaining customer and NASG quality standards and policies, supporting Manufacturing and other support functions to resolve concerns, driving corrective and preventative actions, and continually improving processes to prevent problems.Essential Job FunctionsA. Act as the customer contact for all quality issues and represent NASG as required to resolve issuesB. Creation and maintenance of Control Plans, FMEA's, Flow Diagrams and In-Process Inspection documentationC. Provide guidance to Production group related to part inspectionD. Aid in gage design reviews and purchase of applicable gagesE. Assist production with inspection, SPC, gage useF.
Participate in MRB review and product containment activityG. Lead Problem Solving activities for the timely resolution to internal and external CAR's and customer quality related issuesH. Lead Corrective and Preventative teams, maintain and track Open Issues LogsI. CMM Operation and part verification to support NASG's quality system as necessaryJ. Perform weld / assembly validation (cut and etch, push-out, torque, tensile test, etc..) as requiredK. Perform annual validations / PPAP as requiredL. Perform routine inspections, dimensional studies, and investigations, as necessaryM. Ensure proper containment procedures are followed when poor quality is detectedN.
Support manufacturing when abnormalities occur, solve the problem or escalate upwardO. Ensure that all abnormalities to the standards are documented, escalated, and resolved while working together with Team Members to improve the standard for better Safety, Quality, and ProductivityP. Provide support in the absence of the Senior Quality Engineer or Quality ManagerQ. Participate in Layered Audit processR. Participate in New Product Development as necessaryS. Support and assist EPC team by providing leadership and basic quality directionT. Support Internal/External/Customer audits as requiredU. Coordinate individual, team and plant improvement activitiesV.
