Quality ManagerThis position will be responsible for quality management of all production. This position will be required to accurately capture the information related to quality processes and initiatives and maintain those records according to federal and corporate standards.Duties and Responsibilities-Essential FunctionsReporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Quality Manager responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:Review quality and production data to evaluate and determine the outcome of questionable product and isolate production when requiredAbility to learn and have a strong working knowledge of the SPC program, including maintaining data, providing data interpretation, and troubleshooting problems.Responsible for monitoring process data, validating check frequency per the corporate requirements, and reporting concerns to supervision.Act as a key member of the HACCP, SQF, safety teamsSupervise, direct, and coordinate personnel activities concerned with food safety, cleanliness, and personal hygieneEnsure resources needed for training regarding Quality and Food safety are available on siteMaintain accurate claim information for all suppliers with reports generated from multiple databasesGenerate monthly presentations about customer complaints, SPC, HACCP, audit findings, HFI's, safety and environmentProvide systems-level guidance and training to the quality departmentReview all process control records, spoilage collections, and entry of all defective material related data to ensure SQF complianceOversee the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the Food Safety programs including Food Defense, Food Fraud, GMPs, and HACCP.Oversee the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the SQF System to include establishing processes to improve the effectiveness of the SQF System which demonstrate continuous improvement.Generate monthly report to detail activities at the plant, to include quality, relevant SQF progress, and HACCP initiativesConduct investigations based on customer complaints on quality of productPerform various internal audits and implement corrective actions for any findings.Operate Supplier Quality Assurance system, Customer Complaint system, ESM system, CMD and EX systems, Trailer Reject database, HFI system, Gauge Calibration system, QAS system, and SPC software packagesMaintain quality equipment through calibration and external repairPerform other job-related duties as assigned or requiredQualificationsMinimum RequirementsBachelors in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.5 years of experience in Quality Management in a Production environment or an equivalent experienceCompletion of a HACCP training course that meets the definition found in the SQF CodeA thorough understanding of common quality and problem solving tools including Statistical analysis, Pareto charts, Gauge R&R, PFMEA, Process Capability, and Histograms.Strong Microsoft Office skillsPreferred requirementsPrevious experience in food packaging production industryRequired SkillsComputer use: Use of computer software to maintain records and communicate plant resource consumptionCritical Thinking: Use of logic and reasoning to identify potential solutions or approaches to problemsCustomer Service: Display customer need assessment and meet quality standards for serviceTime Management: Prioritize duties to most efficiently accomplish tasks and maintain productivityTraining: Develop training relevant to quality processes and present to employees to maintain regular complianceRequired AbilitiesAnalysis: Ability to analyze and generate reports and charts based off of customer specifications, FDA regulations, and SQF requirementsCommunication: Ability to read and write English and interpret spoken directionOrganization: Ability to maintain an organized work areaPhysical RequirementsOccasional keeling/crouching requiredFrequent walking requiredAbility to lift 25 poundsFrequent sitting for extended periodsEnvironmental ExposuresOperating machinery produce at least 85 decibels (dB) of noise.The industrial duties of this position may expose the employee to odors, wetness, dirt, and dust.The majority of this position's duties fall within a temperature controlled office environmentReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Crown offers a competitive and comprehensive company-paid benefits package including medical/dental/vision/prescription/ life insurance, 401(k) with match, stock purchase, robust pension, tuition reimbursement, and gainsharing programs.
