This position provides strategic and operational leadership for Quality Assurance, Quality Control Inspection, Calibration, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement activities to ensure products consistently meet customer, regulatory, and industry requirements.The Quality Manager develops and executes quality strategies that support operational excellence, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and business objectives. This role partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Program Management, Supply Chain, and customers to drive continuous improvement, resolve quality issues, improve manufacturing performance, and maintain certification to applicable quality standards.The Quality Manager leads the quality organization through effective planning, coaching, performance management, and resource allocation while ensuring only products meeting all customer, contractual, and regulatory requirements are released for shipment.Essential ResponsibilitiesQuality LeadershipLead all Quality Assurance, Quality Control Inspection, Calibration, and Quality Systems activities for the Salem facility.Develop departmental objectives, work plans, budgets, staffing plans, and performance metrics aligned with business goals.Establish priorities, allocate resources, and ensure departmental objectives are achieved safely, efficiently, and on schedule.Supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate Quality personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.Provide technical guidance and leadership to Quality staff and cross-functional teams.Quality Management System & ComplianceMaintain responsibility for the site's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry requirements.Maintain certifications and compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ITAR, DFARS, customer-specific requirements, and other applicable standards.Lead internal and external audits, customer audits, certification audits, and regulatory assessments.Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality policies, procedures, and work instructions.Manage the external calibration program to ensure inspection and measurement equipment remains compliant and operational.Continuous ImprovementServe as a key leader on the Continuous Improvement Steering Committee.Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives utilizing methodologies including:5SStandard WorkRoot Cause AnalysisError Proofing (Poka-Yoke)Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)Utilize quality metrics and statistical analysis to identify trends, reduce defects, improve First Pass Yield, and lower Cost of Quality.Lead cross-functional improvement projects that enhance operational efficiency and product quality.Customer & Supplier QualityServe as the primary quality representative for key customers.Conduct customer quality reviews and communicate quality performance, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.Lead investigations into customer complaints, escapes, and nonconformances through timely root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.Partner with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues and improve supplier performance.Ensure customer quality concerns are tracked through successful resolution.Performance & ReportingEstablish and maintain quality dashboards and operational priorities.Foster collaboration across Operations, Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Customer teams.QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical discipline required.Experience6+ years of experience in quality management within a high-technology manufacturing environment.6+ years of progressive leadership or supervisory experience.Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments preferred.Technical KnowledgeExtensive knowledge of:ISO 9001ISO 14001DFARSFirst Article Inspection (FAI)ITARDefense Production Act (DPA)Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and quality assurance methodologies.Experience with Lean Manufacturing and
