Quality ManagerLocation: 1201 E Cerritos, Anaheim, California 92805Work Shift: Salary Exempt (United States of America)Leads administration of quality, process, and business improvement efforts. Interacts with customers and suppliers on quality and performance issues. May have direct reports to implement some aspects of the policies and procedures within the quality function.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesQuality System OversightThe Quality Manager maintains and enforces the facility's Quality Management System (QMS), including all SOPs, work instructions, and inspection protocols.The Manager ensures compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements such as FDA food-contact regulations, GMP, and HACCP.The Manager leads internal audits and ensures that corrective actions are properly implemented and verified.Daily Production Quality SupportThe Quality Manager monitors quality performance on all blow mold lines, including bottle functionality, dimensional accuracy, weight, visual appearance, and leak integrity.The Manager verifies that operators follow all start-up, changeover, and shutdown quality procedures.The Manager ensures that all inspections, including hourly checks and first-article approvals, are properly documented.The Manager responds immediately to quality concerns on the production floor and provides direction to operators and technicians.Inspection & Testing ManagementThe Quality Manager oversees daily quality inspections, including weight checks, wall thickness measurements, visual inspections, leak testing, and neck finish gauging.The Manager ensures that all inspection equipment is calibrated, maintained, and functioning correctly.The Manager maintains sampling plans and adjusts inspection frequencies based on risk or customer feedback.Defect Reduction & Continuous ImprovementThe Quality Manager leads root cause analyses for recurring defectsThe Manager identifies quality trends using SPC tools, control charts, and scrap reporting data.The Manager collaborates with Maintenance and Process Technicians to resolve mold, resin, or process-related issues.The Manager implements process improvements related to resin handling, dryer settings, parison control, cooling cycles, and mold maintenance.Customer FocusThe Quality Manager manages customer complaints by conducting investigations, documenting findings, and implementing corrective actions.The Manager prepares customer samples, retains, and certificates of compliance as required.The Manager supports customer audits and plant visits by presenting quality data and improvement initiatives.The Manager may travel to customer locations to support quality investigations, new bottle qualifications and build and maintain a strong business partnershipLeadership & TrainingThe Quality Manager oversees Quality Inspectors and Technicians across all assigned shifts.The Manager trains team members on inspection criteria, defect standards, and proper use of measurement tools.The Manager coaches operators on recognizing defects, documenting issues, and escalating concerns appropriately.The Manager maintains staffing levels and ensures that all 24/7 operational requirements are met.Documentation & ReportingThe Quality Manager ensures the accurate and timely completion of start-up approvals, line clearance forms, non-conformance reports, and traceability records.The Manager generates daily, weekly, and monthly quality performance reports, including scrap, downtime, and defect trends.Non-Conformance & Disposition ControlThe Quality Manager identifies and isolates all non-conforming products to prevent unintended use or shipment.The Manager leads material review processes and recommends appropriate disposition such as rework, downgrade, or scrap.The Manager collaborates with production and scheduling teams to minimize the impact of quality issues on inventory and customer orders.Safety & ComplianceThe Quality Manager ensures that all quality personnel comply with plant safety & GMP policies, including PPE requirements.The Manager maintains all inspection and gauge areas in a clean, organized, and audit-ready condition.The Manager supports investigations into quality-related safety risks, including contamination events and structural failures.Resin, Mold & Equipment SupportThe Quality Manager monitors resin handling practices, including silo integrity and contamination prevention.The Manager verifies that molds are clean, maintained, and compliant with production requirements.The Manager supports the validation of new molds, bottle designs, process changes, and equipment upgrades.Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.3-5 Years Quality ExperienceTargeted Pay Range: $81,900.00 - $101,200.00Altium Packaging, Our Culture Differentiates Us!
