Quality InspectorPrecision Inspectors are the last line of defense between a part on the shop floor and a part on an aircraft carrying pilots or passengers. You'll verify that components for platforms like the F-35, 737MAX, and M1 Abrams meet exacting standards, using drawings, CAD models, and precision tools to catch what can't slip through — and partner with engineering to fix what does.Responsibilities:Perform detailed inspections for in-process and final inspections on machined parts and electrical/mechanical assemblies, using detailed drawings and CAD models to verify conformance to manufacturing and design requirementsEnsure company policies and procedures are complied with for the receiving and storage of incoming parts and materialsResearch, prototype, and implement new inspection tools that meet all design and business requirementsDocument nonconforming product and assist engineering in root cause analysis and corrective actionSupport quality management (QMS) policies and procedure documentation, and assess compliance with company and industry standards, initiate and lead continual improvement and lean manufacturing initiativesAct as a quality advocate on the production floor, escalating risks, and identifying trends and/or serve as an additional technical resourcePerform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environmentBasic Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalency certificate3+ years of inspection experience in an aerospace, military, or manufacturing environment1+ years' experience with reading and interpreting drawings, CAD models, and process specificationsStrong communication skills; able to effectively communicate with engineering and production groupsPreferred Skills and Experience:5+ years of experience in a quality, inspection, or manufacturing roleThorough understanding of all layout inspection tools (surface plate, height gauge, indicators, calipers, micrometers, gage blocks, thread gages, etc.)Experience with First Article InspectionsExperience with aerospace standardsExperience working with manufacturing enterprise resource systems, electronic databases, and paperless work instructionsPractical experience working within quality management systems (AS9100 and ISO 9001)Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing priorities and tasks as delegatedAbility to read and interpret vendor supplied documentationAdditional Requirements:Willingness to work overtime, and/or weekends when needed to hit critical deadlinesMust be able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassistedMust be able to stand for extended periods – 8 hours minAnnual Salary Range$70,000 - $115,000 USDHourly Pay Range$35 - $55 USDThis position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
