Onsite Contract General

Quality InspectorJoin a growing team responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of electrician and lineman equipment. This role combines inspection, material handling, data entry, and shipping support, with opportunities to learn specialized high-voltage testing procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesInspect incoming electrician and lineman materials for quality and safety.Perform visual inspections to identify defects, damage, or irregularities.Clean and prepare materials for testing.Assist with packing, shipping, loading, and unloading materials.Complete accurate inspection and testing documentation.Learn and perform high-voltage testing on gloves and sleeves under supervision.Safely use hand tools and power tools.Maintain organized work areas and follow quality and safety procedures.Communicate quality concerns and support corrective actions.Required Qualifications6+ months of experience in quality inspection, quality control, quality assurance, or a related hands-on role.High school diploma or equivalent.Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.Strong attention to detail and inspection skills.Basic computer and data entry experience.Experience using hand tools and power tools safely.Ability to lift and move 50+ lbs. as needed.Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.Preferred QualificationsExperience in manufacturing, industrial, field service, or quality environments.Familiarity with visual inspection and quality control processes.Experience working in physically demanding environments such as construction, agriculture, or industrial settings.Strong organizational and communication skills.Willingness to learn specialized high-voltage testing procedures.BenefitsContract-to-hire opportunity with long-term growth potentialFamily-owned and operated company cultureTwice-yearly performance reviewsOpportunities for pay increases and career advancementOngoing training and skill developmentSchedule & EnvironmentMonday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PMSmall facility with approximately 20 employeesIndependent work and small team collaboration (2-3 people)Industrial environment with exposure to dust, detergents, solvents, water, and testing equipmentRegular use of hand tools and power toolsOccasional lifting of 50+ lbs. and active, hands-on work throughout the dayJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
