The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and managing all quality assurance activities across manufacturing operations. This position ensures that all internal and external quality standards are consistently met before products reach customers, while maintaining regulatory compliance across domestic and international markets.
The Quality Manager will build and sustain a culture of quality by developing and maintaining effective processes, tools, and procedures; supporting ISO 9001 certification; overseeing product safety and configuration management; and collaborating cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to drive customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Standards & Systems
- Establish and manage quality KPIs to monitor performance, drive root cause evaluation of issues, and implement sustainable corrective actions across all aspects of product and service quality.
- Develop, implement, and enforce quality assurance standards, consistent processes, and testing methodologies for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
Supplier Quality & Raw Materials
- Develop raw material standards by studying manufacturing and engineering requirements, working with suppliers, and devising appropriate testing methods and procedures.
- Implement and manage supplier quality programs to continuously improve the quality of all incoming products, including raw materials and purchased components.
In-Process & Finished Goods Quality
- Implement in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods and developing appropriate testing procedures.
- Establish standards for finished product disposition, rework, and returns by devising evaluation tests, methods, and procedures.
Regulatory Compliance & Product Safety
- Support and maintain ISO 9001 certification, including participation in internal and external audits and management of corrective action processes.
- Ensure product safety and compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and international mandatory requirements, including safety standards for the USA, EU, Canada, and other applicable markets.
Qualifications
- 5 years of progressive quality experience in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of quality management systems, ISO 9001, and quality assurance methodologies including root cause analysis, corrective action, and process improvement tools.
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis, trend analysis, and data-driven quality management.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a quality team in a manufacturing setting.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- Experience with Total Quality Management (TQM), Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt certification.
- Experience with flexible manufacturing technology, automation, and production equipment.
- Experience in consumer goods or high-volume manufacturing.
