Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer | $80K-$100K | Canton, OH

LHH is partnering with a growing manufacturer in the Canton area seeking a Quality Engineer with DOT compliance experience to take ownership of quality, product certification, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role for someone who enjoys working across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, customers, and regulatory organizations and wants the opportunity to grow into quality leadership.

What You'll Do

• Lead DOT compliance, product approvals, and certification activities
• Develop and improve quality systems, procedures, policies, and documentation
• Coordinate product testing, validation, inspections, and certification requirements
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions
• Partner with engineering and production to resolve quality issues and improve processes
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation
• Support supplier quality and incoming material requirements
• Perform shop-floor inspections and drive continuous improvement
• Work directly with customers, suppliers, testing laboratories, and regulatory organizations
• Track quality metrics and maintain quality and compliance documentation

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Materials, or related field
• 3+ years of quality engineering or manufacturing quality experience
• DOT regulatory, compliance, and/or product approval experience required
• Experience with root cause analysis, CAPA, audits, and quality management systems
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Strong cross-functional communication and problem-solving skills
• Steel, metals, or heavy manufacturing experience preferred
• ERP, AutoCAD, and/or SolidWorks experience is a plus
