Location: Salisbury, NC (with support for Knoxville, TN, and Greensboro, NC)

Travel: Approximately 20% domestic travel

About the Opportunity

Yale Cordage is a recognized leader in the rope and rigging industry, known for innovative solutions, high-quality products, and exceptional customer service.

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join the Slingmax Group team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on product quality, manufacturing processes, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple facilities.

Reporting to the Quality Systems Manager, the Quality Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and improving quality systems, certifications, and testing programs. Our products include synthetic fiber ropes and slings used across a wide range of applications and industries.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, analytical problem-solver who enjoys working closely with manufacturing teams, identifying opportunities for improvement, and driving quality excellence.

What You'll Do:

• Maintain and continuously improve quality assurance systems, certifications, and routine production testing programs.
• Support quality assurance initiatives across our Salisbury, NC; Knoxville, TN; and Greensboro, NC facilities.
• Identify quality risks, process weaknesses, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support new product development and improvements to existing products and manufacturing processes.
• Conduct internal audits and assist with external audits.
• Document and report product nonconformances and defective materials.
• Perform laboratory testing, analyze results, and prepare technical reports.
• Partner with manufacturing teams through hands-on involvement in production processes.
• Drive initiatives to improve product yield, reduce scrap, and enhance overall operational performance.
• Provide technical support and product knowledge to internal teams when addressing customer inquiries.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
• 1–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Previous experience in an ISO 9001-certified environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
• Experience in fibers, textiles, rigging, lifting, or related industries is preferred.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20% domestically, primarily to Knoxville, TN, and Greensboro, NC.
