If you're passionate about continuous improvement, advanced metrology, statistical process control, and collaborating with manufacturing teams to build quality into every process, we'd like to meet you.Located in Hatboro, PA, just outside Northeast Philadelphia, KMM offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge inspection technology while helping support customers in the medical device, aerospace, defense, and high-precision manufacturing industries.Job ResponsibilitiesAs a Quality Engineer, you'll collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to develop quality systems, inspection methods, and process improvements that ensure precision components consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements.Develop and improve inspection plans, quality plans, control plans, and inspection methodologiesCreate and maintain First Article, In-Process, and Final Inspection documentationProgram and validate CMM inspection routinesDevelop inspection strategies for complex precision-machined componentsCollaborate with Engineering to ensure manufacturability and inspection feasibilityPerform root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologiesSupport CAPA activities and continuous improvement initiativesAnalyze SPC, Cp, and Cpk data to improve process capabilityAssist with implementation of statistical inspection methodsReview production documentation for Quality Management System complianceEnsure documentation complies with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirementsSupport internal and external quality auditsDevelop process controls that reduce variation and improve production qualityAssist with implementation of new inspection technologies and software improvementsResearch and recommend improvements to inspection processes and metrology systemsMentor and support manufacturing personnel on quality planning and inspection best practicesWhat Success Looks LikeDevelop quality plans that support consistent, customer-approved production.Improve process capability through data-driven quality improvements.Partner with Engineering and Production to solve manufacturing challenges.Deliver accurate inspection plans, CMM programs, and quality documentation.Drive continuous improvement across quality systems and processes.Ensure precision components meet customer and industry quality standards.Job RequirementsWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline OR equivalent manufacturing quality experienceMinimum five (5) years of Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Quality Control experience in a precision manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)Experience developing quality plans and inspection plansStrong knowledge of CMM inspection methodsExperience with Statistical Process Control (SPC), Cp, and CpkExperience supporting production machining environmentsStrong analytical and troubleshooting skillsAbility to interpret engineering drawings and customer specificationsExcellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:OGP optical inspection systemsKeyence vision inspection systemsISO 13485AS9100FDA 21 CFR Part 11Lean ManufacturingSix Sigma methodologiesRoot Cause Analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, 8D)CAPAPFMEAControl PlansFirst Article Inspection (FAI)Measurement System Analysis (MSA)Physical RequirementsSit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.Work at computer workstations and inspection equipment for prolonged periods.Perform inspections using precision measuring instruments.Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.Frequently use hands and fingers to operate computers, measuring equipment, and inspection tools.Read engineering drawings, inspection reports, and electronic data.Distinguish fine visual details during inspection activities.Occasionally bend, reach, kneel, or stoop while inspecting manufactured components.Work safely in a manufacturing environment around CNC machining equipmentITAR RequirementKMM is an ITAR-registered facility.
