Quality EngineerThe Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving quality systems, data analysis and customer interface, quality practices and continuous improvement activities.Ensure all tasks are performed in a safe manner and compliance with all safety policies and procedures.Regularly interacts with frontline leaders and production employees to provide direction and leadership.Provides technical expertise to Engineering, Operations, Logistics, Product Development, and Quality to support and improve plant performance.Plans, executes and documents trial results for quality and process improvementProvide support in developing specification for new products.Responsible for the daily monitoring and troubleshooting for quality and productionOversee internal, customer, and third-party audit from preparation through corrective actionDevelops and leads assigned projects from start to completion.Develops and leads improvement programs around quality KPIs (defects per unit, TCOQ, etc)Responsible for determining process and machine capabilities and continuous improvement programs through the use of statistical methods.Regularly interfaces with customers and vendors.Leads investigations into customer complaints and developing corrective action.Utilizes process control methodology (Six Sigma, SPC, Designed Experiments, etc...) to solve problems and improve process control and capability.Serves as a resource on plant technologies, control systems, and raw materials. Initiates and leads with implementation of process control improvements using DMAIC planning process.Initiates plans and processes to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of processes and equipment.Manages process change through use of designed experiments.Leads process changes and maintains FMEA's for all assets.Ensures consistency of processes across all assets and shifts.Tracks improvement through use of Hoshin, Kaizen and Lean Six Sigma methodologiesEnsures maintenance of asset SOP's and work instructions.Partners with Product Development and Sales.Support the effective implementation of investment projects approved for capacity or facility expansion and upgrades.May lead or participate in regional or global projects.Additional duties as assigned.BS degree in Quality Management, Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Certified Quality Engineer a plus.

Six Sigma certification preferred (green or black belt) 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality role; experience in paper or hygiene products is a plus. Familiarity with ISO standards, GMP, and microbiological testing methods preferred Works independently and has the ability to prioritize and multitask. Ability to travel required (10-30%).

Intermediate computer skills including MS Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Problem solving skills required. Excellent interpersonal skills.

Paper, hygiene, or nonwovens experience desired.
