Quality Control TechnicianThe Quality Control Technician performs precise mechanical inspections on machined parts and assemblies, ensuring all products meet established quality standards and documentation requirements. This role sets up and uses standard inspection devices, conducts receiving, in-process, and final inspections, and maintains accurate quality records while adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesSet up and accurately inspect machined parts using standard mechanical inspection devices, including sine plates, optical comparators, calipers, and micrometers.Perform Receiving Inspection on incoming parts, components, assemblies, weldments, wiring harnesses, and related items to verify conformance to specifications.Conduct In-Process Inspection during manufacturing to ensure parts and assemblies meet quality requirements at each stage of production.Carry out Final Inspection of completed parts, components, assemblies, weldments, and wiring harnesses to confirm they meet all dimensional and quality standards before release.File, organize, and maintain inspection-related documents, records, and reports in accordance with company quality control procedures.Use troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify nonconformances and support corrective actions within the inspection process.Apply basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, to interpret measurements and tolerances.Follow detailed written and oral instructions and apply common sense understanding to complete inspection tasks accurately and efficiently.Use calibration software, when applicable, to support measurement and inspection activities.Operate computer systems and enterprise software (such as EPICOR, SAP, or JDE) to enter inspection data, update records, and access work instructions.Multi-task effectively and respond to changing priorities as production and inspection needs shift throughout the day.Comply with all company policies, practices, and procedures related to quality, safety, and general operations.Essential Skills2–3 years of related quality control, inspection, or equivalent experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Hands-on experience with mechanical inspection of machined parts using standard inspection tools such as sine plates, optical comparators, calipers, and micrometers.Practical experience performing receiving, in-process, and final inspections in a manufacturing environment.Demonstrated ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to interpret and follow detailed but straightforward written and oral instructions.Ability to apply common sense understanding to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Experience with quality control practices, documentation, and recordkeeping.Basic computer skills, including the ability to work with enterprise systems such as EPICOR, SAP, JDE, or similar software.Ability to multi-task and adjust to changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.Commitment to following company policies, practices, and procedures.Additional Skills & QualificationsCertified Mechanical Inspector certificate is a plus.Experience working with ISO 9001 quality management systems is a plus.Previous experience with calibration software is a plus.Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques in a quality control or inspection setting.Experience working with wiring harnesses, weldments, and assemblies in a manufacturing environment.Why Work Here?This opportunity offers a contract-to-hire path, giving you the chance to demonstrate your skills with the potential for long-term employment. The noise level is typically moderate to high, consistent with an active manufacturing facility that operates machinery and equipment. You will spend significant time on or near the shop floor, working around production activities and using inspection tools and computer systems to perform your duties.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverside, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
