Consequently, the Quality Control (QC) department is critical to the growth of the business and to customer satisfaction.The Quality Control Technician - Computers works primarily in the Quality Control department of a branch warehouse but may be temporarily reassigned to work in any other warehouse department. These short reassignments are dictated by the flow of work and the demands of the business.

Employees in this role will help out in all disciplines (audio, video, projection, etc.) of the QC department and must have a general proficiency with basic AV equipment and computers.Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain and ensure the quality of a regional fleet of PC and Macintosh laptops, desktops, tablets, and all-in-one computers, as well as LaserJet printers, SOHO networking equipment, remote presenters, and digital video playback softwareDiagnose, log, and repair damaged itemsManage firmware versions for applicable devicesOrganize and store all tested equipmentEnsure all equipment is presentable and in ideal working conditionBe able to handle hard deadlines and plan workflow depending on client needsOccasionally serve as on-site customer supportAssist other departments when necessaryFollow direction of the department leader and managersMaintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment to ensure safety and complianceComply with company policies and proceduresPerform additional duties as assignedJob Functions:Quality Control - 75% - Performs QC procedures according to Rentex policy on equipment returning from rental. Cleans cases and equipment so that all equipment presents well. Correctly processes missing or damaged equipment according to Rentex Standard Operating Procedures. Reshelves equipment correctly, with QC tag.

Pulls/preps/scans equipment for outbound orders. Follows direction of the department leader and management team.General Warehouse Duties - 25% - Warehouse maintenance, organization, and cleaning Safe work practices Assists in the Inbound department Assists in the Outbound department Completes special projects as assigned by management.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a warehouse environment.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; communicate with coworkers. The employee must carry, lift, or move objects up to 50 pounds.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are subject to change and may rotate.

Needs of the business may dictate long hours and weekend work during high-demand periods.Minimum QualificationsAny combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from high school or a GEDKnowledge of operating systems, device drivers, basic networking, and system imaging softwarePossess a basic understanding of inventory software for forecasting of workloadAbility to perform basic equipment maintenance and repairsAbility to lift 50 poundsPreferred QualificationsPossesses 2-3 years' experience working with computer equipment in a production environment.Strong understanding of basic network topologyAbility to effectively troubleshoot and manage time in time sensitive situations.Proficient in Microsoft Office suiteOther DutiesThis job description is not intended to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
