Required Qualifications
• 2+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing, machining, welding or similar environment
• Strong mechanical and dimensional inspection background
• Experience working within an ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 certified environment
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, CAD/technical drawings, and P&IDs
• Hands-on experience with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, or similar precision measurement equipment
• Experience or familiarity with electrical inspection, including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, or electrical components
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with FARO Arms, CMMs, or other dimensional inspection equipment
• PolyWorks or similar CMM/metrology software experience
• Knowledge of First Article Inspection (FAI)
• Experience with NDT processes such as PT, UT, or FPI
• Gas turbine, power generation, or rotating equipment experience
Position Overview
Insight Global is seeking a Quality Inspector for a precision manufacturing and engineering company in Fairfield, OH. This position will primarily focus on mechanical and dimensional inspection, while also supporting the inspection of some electrical components and assemblies. The Quality Inspector will ensure products meet engineering drawings, dimensional tolerances, specifications, and AS9100/ISO 9001 quality standards.
The ideal individual is able and comfortable in reviewing drawings, using precision tools to verify dimensions, documenting findings, and reporting non-conformances.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform incoming, in-process, receiving, and final inspections of mechanical and electrical parts, assemblies, and subassemblies
• Inspect dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes against engineering drawings, 3D models, and specifications
• Use precision measurement equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, FARO Arms, and similar tools
• Perform dimensional checks utilizing the FARO scanning arm and support the creation of inspection plans
• Support First Article Inspections (FAI) and maintain accurate quality documentation
• Review applicable electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation during inspections
• Identify, document, and report nonconforming materials and quality concerns
• Assist with Material Review Board (MRB) activities for product disposition
