Job Summary:
This role is responsible for the quality assurance and inspection of products used in medical and surgical applications. Responsibilities include in-process visual and dimensional inspections, final product inspection, identification and reporting of nonconforming product, and supporting general quality activities as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform product inspections, including dimensional, visual, testing, and CMM inspections, using calipers, pin gauges, thread gauges, micrometers, height gauges, Micro-Vu, profilometers, and other inspection equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and other technical documentation.
- Maintain full traceability of products, parts, and in-process materials through proper line clearance techniques and good documentation practices.
- Accurately document inspection results and process steps in accordance with quality system requirements and good documentation practices.
- Prepare nonconformance reports with support from the Quality Engineering team.
- Collaborate with Production and Product Development to support the evaluation and final disposition of nonconforming product.
- Review fulfillment packing slips and packaged products for accuracy, including quantity, lot assignment, part numbers, and other applicable requirements.
- Assist with Shipping, Receiving, and Fulfillment activities as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED is required; Associate's Degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience using inspection equipment.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industry requiring a high level of attention to detail.
- General computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Ability to create, edit, save, and copy documents, including using tracked changes in Microsoft Word and creating PDFs using Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Ability to navigate computer files and folders and maintain organized documentation.
- Ability to accurately follow documentation procedures and complete required data fields.
- Experience with inspection equipment such as calipers, pin gauges, thread gauges, micrometers, height gauges, Micro-Vu, profilometers, and other related equipment is required.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to use basic hand tools and inspection equipment.
- Ability to handle small materials, tools, and components and place items on shelves.
- Ability to perform minor lifting of approximately 7 to 25 lbs.
- Position may involve handling or exposure to metallic powders, mill coolant, tapping fluid, and polymeric resins.
- Work may be performed in standard laboratory and office environments.
