Join our team at our Leesport, PA facility as a Quality Assurance Lead, where you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and product quality on the production floor. As a Quality Assurance Lead, you will work closely with production teams, management, and regulatory staff to uphold our commitment to quality and compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily execution of food safety and quality systems on the production floor.
- Perform all duties of a QA Technician, including monitoring process controls, GMPs, pre-operational and operational sanitation, and personnel practices.
- Collect samples for microbiological and chemical testing as required.
- Troubleshoot and implement corrective actions when deviations from standards occur.
- Monitor employee compliance with GMPs, SOPs, and SSOPs.
- Document, monitor, and analyze quality data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all products, packaging materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Lead incident and complaint investigations, verifying the effectiveness of preventive and corrective actions.
- Conduct routine and non-routine quality audits, including GMP, document, CAPA verification, process assessments, and HACCP audits.
- Oversee and ensure completion of quality improvement projects.
- Collaborate with USDA FSIS inspection staff and plant management teams.
- Serve as backup in the absence of the QA Supervisor.
- Report any animal welfare or food safety issues to management immediately.
- Report damages to company vehicles, equipment, and buildings using maintenance work order software.
- Follow all biosecurity, animal welfare, and good warehousing practices, and monitor for compliance.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in a Quality Assurance role within a food manufacturing facility, or a college degree in a related science field.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with upper management.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to assist others.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to meet assigned work schedules and comply with time and attendance policies.
- Commitment to following all company policies and procedures.
