The
Quality & Engineering Manager is
responsible for leading the organization's quality assurance and engineering functions by ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements. This role drives continuous improvement, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, process optimization, and product reliability while supporting manufacturing efficiency, operational excellence, and strategic business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Quality Management, Science, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, quality assurance, process improvement, manufacturing, and/or regulatory compliance; 5+ years in design/manufacturing engineering preferred.
- Experience managing and developing technical and quality teams; ability to lead, mentor, train, and evaluate employees.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100/ISO Quality Management Systems, internal/external audits, quality policy, procedures, and documentation control.
- Certified Quality Auditor and/or Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, failure analysis, root-cause analysis, CAPA, process validation, and continuous improvement methods.
- Ability to develop and apply statistical techniques for monitoring and controlling manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read, interpret, and create drawings in digital format using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar design software.
- Experience with research and development, new product development, product validation, test methods, assembly methods, fixtures, tooling, and process improvements.
- MRP/ERP system experience preferred, including EPICOR, BOM/MOM creation, routings, technical data, and manufacturing information maintenance.
- Strong project management capabilities, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and deadline accountability.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical topics clearly.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Job Description
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of quality department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing quality and engineering teams; provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of department activities.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
- Build and execute quality and engineering strategies aligned with organizational goals, business objectives, customer requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the quality management system in compliance with as9100/iso standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory or external agency expectations.
- Serve as management representative for external quality agencies and support customer, regulatory, supplier, and certification audits as required.
- Maintain documentation, support internal audit programs, track significant deviations from quality standards, and recommend corrective action to management as needed.
- Drive process improvements through root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, failure analysis, statistical methods, and data-driven decision-making.
- Oversee engineering projects, including project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, technical review, risk management, execution, and reporting to leadership and stakeholders.
- Provide technical oversight by reviewing designs, drawings, customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost, product validation, and maintenance requirements.
- Implement technical data and manufacturing information into erp/mrp systems; create and maintain boms, moms, routings, material lists, labor/manpower requirements, machine and equipment requirements, skill levels, tooling requirements, and time studies as required.
- Coordinate production plans and research new procedures, materials, processes, equipment, products, and testing methods to improve quality, cost, productivity, and manufacturability.
- Assist in developing cost estimates for new or redesigned products and support design changes that improve manufacturing processes, testing, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in new product development to ensure appropriate quality assurance, quality control, manufacturability, validation, and control plans are implemented.
- Develop, improve, and validate test and assembly processes, methods, fixtures, tools, procedures, and work instructions.
- Recommend, evaluate, and implement new testing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and process controls as needed.
- Manage customer quality concerns, complaint investigations, production‑related quality issues, and corrective action follow-up.
- Manage supplier quality in conjunction with purchasing, including supplier performance monitoring, quality requirements, issue resolution, and improvement actions.
- Collaborate closely with product development, manufacturing, supply chain, operations, purchasing, quality control, and other departments to establish robust manufacturing processes.
- Establish and support training initiatives for quality control personnel, manufacturing employees, machine operators, laboratory technicians, and other team members on quality, process, and technical requirements.
- Track, analyze, and report key quality and engineering metrics, including trends, risks, corrective actions, project status, and continuous improvement progress.
