Pay Range: $80,000 - $90,000

Summary : Responsible for administrating the North America Safety Program components to ensure that the employee and temp associate training, site operating equipment, vehicles, and reporting documentation comply with applicable state and federal regulations. Full implementation of the North America Safety Program willhelp ensure a safe and healthy environment for employees, temp associates and the public. Responsible for supporting continuous improvement through company non-conformance analysis, reporting and corrective action. Identify opportunities and makerecommendations for improving product quality and process efficiencies to ensure the company maintains a robust Quality Management System and maintains any external certifications.Responsible for leading all facility training to all levels of employees and maintainingsafety/quality performance objectives to assist in cost control programs.Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

Typical Responsibilities:

Assure daily summaries of job accidents, incidents, injuries, safety complaints and equipment damage are communicated to HSE, RSM’s and site Leadership.

Assist department Supervisors concerning safety regulations, company policies and procedures.

Develop andperform training programs to meet company-training objectives.

Develop, implement and administer health and safety programs for all departments throughout the facility including employee forklift certifications, employee safety orientations and employee Hazmat/Dangerous Goods certifications, FDA permitting, RSO (Radiation Safety Officer) training.

Assess the applicability of state and federal OSHA requirements and other occupational health and safety rules and regulations.

Completion and submission of annual HMBP (Hazardous Materials Business Plans) in CA if applicable.

FDA permit processing / adherence for locations thatpick, pack or ship food for human consumption.

Conduct safety inspections and review performance of job functions to ensure conformity with safety and environmental health regulations.

Prepare records, reports and make recommendations for action and/or correction.

Review, research and resolve discrepancies on weekly departmental reporting.

Distribute QHSE communications regarding safety alerts, audit and lessons learned findings.

Educate and motivate associates to follow work practices and maintain a safe working environment through training, presentations and the distribution of safety materials.

Act as a resource for operating department managers and supervisors with regard to safety, health, environmental and select maintenance issues.

Train new employees on departmental/company safety and quality procedures.

Serve as the subject matter expert for quality andsafety regulations and policies.

Utilize quality management software to perform in-depth analysis of company non-conformance areas.

Utilize quality management software to provide “value-added” solutions to the field in terms of driving continuous improvement, standardization and non-conformance documentation.

Administer recurring reports to Leadership team for review of established quality and safety metrics.

Utilize and adhere to the quality system documentation and forms.

Enforce and ensure that quality control processes are followed.

Develop, coordinate, schedule and present training to employees regarding the Quality Management System and quality software.

Ensuremanagement staff adheresto established work standards andwork process through ongoing communication of audits and reports.

Provideguidance to facility employees/management in complying with the QMS requirements and intentions of the program.

Facilitatecompletion of Root Cause Analyses and Corrective Actions for serious quality or risk issues.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Strong verbal, auditory and written communication skills.Skilled in developing and documenting processes, and procedures.Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.

Computer literate.Proficientin Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.

Capable ofcommunicating and interacting effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds andeffectively presenting information and responding to questions frommanagement,employeesandvendors.

Demonstrated problem solving, analytical skills andability to quickly understand.

Able to deal with a wide range of situations, personalities and communicate in a confident and professional manner, good interpersonal skills.Ability to support team members in furthering departmental goals through open and honest communication, promoting team interests overself-interest.

Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information.

Proven organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments.Must be able to meet deadlines and complete all projects in a timely manner.Ability to work independently while following established policy and procedures.Self-starter, able to prioritize and organize projects and assignments.

Advanced analytical skills with experience in performing quantitative statistical analysis, and root cause analysis.

Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborate with internal and external resources, gain credibility with senior management, and manage through conflict with a positive and flexible attitude.

Ability to develop programs to reduce accidents andinjuries in a material-handling environment.

Abilityto effectively and clearly communicate simple instructions in front of an audience. Abilityto train a large scale of employees.Abilityto develop and present statistical data to all organizational levels.

Ability to facilitate proactive safety awareness programs.

Experience in investigating accidents, incidents and safety complaints.

Ability to generate error-free reports.

Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

Minimum:

High School Degree or GED.

Minimum two year (safety/compliance) industry related experience

2 years minimumexperience in state and federal/OSHA regulations

Safety &Compliance Certificate

Other industry equivalent safety certification/training

In-depth knowledge of applicable state and federal OSHA requirements and other occupational health and safety rules and regulations.

Experience in evaluating workplace hazards and risk mitigation.

Preferred:

Associates Degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience with HS&E

5 year experience in a supply chain, transportation, logistics, or a related field preferredor equivalent combination of education and work experience

2 – 5 years preferred experience in state and federal/OSHA regulations

Certified powered industrial truck trainer

OSHA or Cal/OSHA 10Hour or 30 hour Course

Strong skills in Microsoft Excel
