QA TechnicianThe QA Technician supports food safety and quality assurance activities by monitoring production lines, performing inspections and sampling, and ensuring strict adherence to HACCP, GMP, and standard operating procedures. This role focuses on verifying the quality of raw materials and finished products, overseeing sanitation processes, and maintaining accurate documentation to support regulatory and internal quality standards.ResponsibilitiesMonitor production lines and perform quality reviews to ensure products meet established specifications and standards.Inspect raw materials and verify they comply with quality, safety, and documentation requirements before use in production.Follow and enforce HACCP plans, GMP guidelines, and SOPs throughout all stages of production and sanitation.Operate and verify metal detectors on production lines to ensure effective foreign material control.Collect samples from different production lines and areas for microbiological and other quality testing.Perform routine swabbing and environmental sampling to verify cleaning effectiveness and sanitation practices.Apply the seven steps of cleaning to production equipment and areas, ensuring all steps are completed and documented accurately.Calculate concentration levels for chemical cleaners and verify that cleaning solutions meet required specifications.Document all inspections, tests, sampling results, and deviations accurately and in a timely manner.Communicate effectively with production, quality, and sanitation teams to address quality issues and support corrective actions.Support sanitation activities across high care, ready-to-eat, and savory production areas under the guidance of sanitation leadership.Follow all safety, food safety, and quality policies and report any concerns or nonconformances promptly.Essential SkillsHands-on experience with HACCP principles and application in a production or food processing environment.Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and their application on production lines.Ability to follow and apply standard operating procedures (SOPs) consistently.Experience with microbiology concepts, including inspection, sampling, and basic testing practices.Experience performing inspection and sampling activities in a production or quality setting.Ability to perform swabbing and environmental sampling to verify sanitation effectiveness.Familiarity with metal detectors used on production lines and basic verification checks.Ability to calculate and verify chemical cleaner concentration levels accurately.Strong documentation skills, with the ability to complete records clearly, accurately, and on time.Bilingual communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with multiple departments.High school diploma or greater.Ability to work 3rd shift from 8:00 PM to 4:30 AM, Monday through Friday, with some Sunday hours as needed.Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with production, quality, and sanitation teams.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in production roles with an interest in quality or sanitation.Experience working in high care, ready-to-eat, or savory production environments.Ability to work under the direction of sanitation leadership while taking ownership of assigned tasks.Comfort working in a structured environment with clear procedures and regulatory requirements.Work EnvironmentThe QA Technician works in a production setting, regularly walking different lines and production areas to collect samples, perform inspections, and verify sanitation activities. The facility includes multiple production areas, including high care, ready-to-eat, and savory lines, operating under the supervision of sanitation leadership.

The role is primarily on 3rd shift, from 8:00 PM to 4:30 AM, Monday through Friday, with some Sunday hours required from time to time based on operational needs. The position involves working around production equipment, metal detectors, cleaning chemicals, and sanitation processes, and requires adherence to all safety, food safety, and quality protocols while moving throughout the facility.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of CARSON, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
