The QA/QC Manager is responsible for developing and implementing project-specific quality management programs for large-scale electrical construction projects. This role works closely with project leadership, field teams, commissioning personnel, and trade partners to ensure installations meet contract requirements, industry standards, and client expectations.
The successful candidate will drive quality initiatives throughout the project lifecycle, oversee inspection and testing activities, support commissioning efforts, and promote a culture of building work correctly the first time.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and improving company quality assurance and quality control processes.
- Review project plans, specifications, standards, and contract requirements to establish project quality objectives.
- Develop and implement project-specific QA/QC plans and procedures.
- Manage quality inspections, documentation, testing activities, and system turnover requirements.
- Coordinate closely with testing and commissioning teams to support successful system acceptance and project closeout.
- Lead and mentor project QA/QC personnel and provide ongoing quality-related training to field teams.
- Participate in new employee onboarding and craft professional development initiatives related to quality standards.
- Conduct regular quality audits and project reviews and communicate findings to project leadership.
- Perform field inspections to verify equipment installation, workmanship quality, and compliance with design documents.
- Track and report quality metrics through project management and quality management software platforms.
- Identify potential quality issues early and work proactively with project teams to implement corrective actions.
- Support project teams in achieving zero-defect turnover and successful client acceptance.
- Maintain detailed inspection reports, punch lists, testing records, and closeout documentation.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in commercial, industrial, or mission-critical electrical construction.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, commissioning, testing, or system turnover activities.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, installation methods, construction standards, and industry best practices.
- Experience utilizing digital construction management, quality management, or commissioning software.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
- Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements, where applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Data center or mission‑critical construction experience.
- Experience with electrical testing, startup, commissioning, or turnover processes.
- Field installation or electrical trade background.
- Knowledge of multiple construction disciplines and coordination requirements.
- Experience working on large‑scale hyperscale, colocation, or critical infrastructure projects.
