Our client seeks a QA Database Tester to support delivery of high-quality software solutions. The role requires strong database testing experience, proficiency with complex SQL, and experience with test automation. The tester will collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to validate that applications meet business and technical requirements through comprehensive testing practices.

Rate: $40.00 to $45.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to define, develop, and execute test strategies for new and existing applications.

• Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases based on user stories and business requirements.

• Validate database functionality and data integrity using advanced SQL queries.

• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.

• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman or SOAP-based testing platforms.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality is built into the software development lifecycle.

• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for testing processes, automation, and quality standards.

Experience Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Information Technology with a focus on Quality Assurance and Testing.

• Experience creating and maintaining automated tests.

• Strong SQL/database testing skills, including the ability to write and troubleshoot complex queries.

• Experience with Snowflake and/or DB2 databases.

• Experience performing API testing using Postman, SOAP, or similar tools.

• Knowledge of scripting languages used for test automation.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with Property & Casualty Insurance Policy Administration Systems preferred.

• Commercial Lines insurance experience preferred.

• Demonstrated leadership abilities, self-motivation, and a proactive approach to problem solving preferred.

• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team preferred.

• Experience working within an Agile development environment preferred.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
