Role Summary

The QA Lead provides hands‑on leadership for all testing activities supporting the implementation of the insurance platform, including policy billing, claims, distribution, and related integrations. The role defines and executes the overall test strategy, leads SIT, coordinates with vendor integration teams and business stakeholders, and ensures production‑ready quality across iterative releases. The role is expected to be deeply hands‑on, contributing directly to test design, execution, defect triage, and automation, not purely managerial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the end‑to‑end test strategy for product implementation covering
  • Functional testing
  • Integration testing
  • Data validation
  • Regression testing
  • Non‑functional testing, performance, batch interfaces
  • Hands‑on test execution
  • Design review and execute test scenarios and test cases for API‑based, event‑driven, batch, and file‑based integrations
  • End‑to‑end business process flows across upstream and downstream systems
  • Perform hands‑on testing: defect reproduction, root‑cause analysis, and validation of fixes
  • Coordinate and support dual run and phased rollout testing during coexistence with legacy platforms
  • Lead integration testing across products and enterprise systems ensuring end‑to‑end transaction traceability
  • Data integrity across source and target systems
  • Validation of error handling, retries, and reconciliation
  • Partner closely with Integration Leads and architects to validate interface contracts, data mappings, and transformation logic
  • Drive adoption of test automation for regression and integration testing where feasible
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI‑assisted testing accelerators or QE tools to improve coverage, efficiency, and defect detection
  • Ensure automation aligns with CI/CD pipelines and supports frequent product releases
  • Own defect lifecycle management: severity classification, triage coordination, release readiness reporting, and release validation
  • Provide clear quality metrics, risk assessments, and go/no‑go recommendations for releases
  • Serve as the primary QA point of contact for systems integrators, business SMEs, Trustmark IT, and architecture teams
  • Provide regular status updates, quality dashboards, and risk visibility to program leadership

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years of QA experience with hands‑on leadership in large enterprise implementations
  • Strong background in System Integration Testing (SIT) for complex multi‑system environments
  • Solid understanding of insurance domain processes: policy billing, claims, enrollment, distribution
  • Experience testing APIs, batch jobs, file transfers, and event‑driven integrations
  • Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Aha, and ALM type tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience leading QA in Agile or SAFe delivery models
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and integration testing tools
  • Exposure to AI‑enabled QA or QE accelerators
  • Experience supporting data migration and dual‑run testing during platform transformation

Role Characteristics

  • Hands‑on, not advisory; expected to actively test and troubleshoot
  • On‑site or hybrid presence during critical testing phases
  • Operates with high accountability for quality outcomes and release readiness

Variable Compensation

This position includes a bonus or variable payout component based on individual and organizational performance. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, performance, and internal equity.
